I have a silly question. I’ve been assuming we just mirror the steps for each move, however I’m starting to have doubts as to whether the actual video was mirrored or not.
For example, I start all of these routines with loose legs on the left side first. I assume it technically does not matter ? (you should be able to do both sides). However, I noticed in the salsa spin that it would mean a step out with the right – and generally a salsa right turn is with the left.
Just want to clear it up if there is a “right” response 😀
Hey Adina! Actually, in house dance, it doesn’t matter which leg you salsa spin with, but if you want to stay true to the salsa roots, then you could focus on the left. With the other moves, it definitely doesn’t matter what leg you start out with. I personally have a mix of “left side” and “right side” moves – I just do whichever side feels better or goes with my instincts better. It’s up to you whether you choose to mirror the movements or not. I hope this helps!
