This is a question that comes up from time to time from other dancers.
I want to know what shoes you find the most comfortable or appealing to dance in? (and why?)
Disclaimer: We are all different shapes and sizes, so one person's experience may vary to another.
I've been wearing Puma Suedes a fair bit as of late, as they are sturdy and reliable for dance.
Nike Air Max 90s are my back up.

Lately I've been running on several pairs of Etnies Scouts. I gravitate toward skating shoes because I have a wider midfoot (ball area/forefoot.) They're designed a bit differently from shoes you'd typically use for dancing because they have a bit of grip, particularly at the outer front and heel. However they have offered me some slip in the most stickiest of club floors and grip in the most alcohol soaked. They are my dailies, my dance-ies, and I use them when I do tricking (but they suck to drive stickshift in)
Othewise I was using a pair of DVS Premier 2.0s when I was learning spinning from Jardys other material (the sole support is kinda weird with hella arch, and feels strangely elevated, but they ARE cushy)
i was using running style shoes like adidas or nike cortez for a while but kept on spraining my ankle by bending it at a right angle.. so I switched to some air max, and they are bulky and solid enough that my ankle won't bend, and chunky enough that I can spin on my toes
I like the Air Max too! I was getting down with the Nike Roshe Runs for a while as well, but the cheaper ones can deteriorate quickly.
I recently received some Adidas Steezys as a gift. They have this extra cushion in the sole, so it feels bouncy while I dance. I'm not enthralled with their aesthetic, but they feel good to dance in.
I used to roll with a pair of Adidas Gazelles, but have found that they don't support the arch of my feet very well. I thought about switching to some Puma Suedes, but settled on a pair of Vans Classic. And boy, do they feel great to dance in!
Yeah. Sure
Currently rocking roshe runs but took up Sensei Jardy's advice and waiting for my new pair of Flyknit 2s to come in!
Updated to Reebok Classics!

@percydc - I love them more than my air max 90s, they dont have a high frame, and they feel padded well and still light.
